Now that I got a few things off of my chest I imagine it is time to let you know who you are dealing with. My name is Richard, I live in a small New Hampshire town but am a die-hard NY Yankees fan. The reason for this blog is because I strongly feel there are not enough avenues on the internet to trumpet our collective self- absorption.
Also because I am a new dad, a stay at home dad in fact, and I imagine there might be some other homedaddies out there who would like to know they are not alone. And yes, I fully realize that they fully realize they are not alone, in fact they are never alone since their kids are latched onto their legs and using their spinal cords as a jungle gym. I am speaking in a more general sense, like we are all in this together and I feel your pain my brother.

My daughter Olive turned six months old today, which is sort of mind blowing to think I have been at this for six months and so has she. We are both doing pretty good, although if I had one word to describe each of us hers would be 'thriving' and mine would be 'improvising'.
I wanted a place to post updates on Olive's life, reflect on the dad experience and share house projects I have slaved over at a snail's pace. My previous blog, Little House on the Hillside, was based around my experiences building our house here in NH. It was a lot of fun to write and I sort of miss the daily communication. The original blogging platform folded, however, and it got shuttled over to Typepad, which didn't import my picture galleries so the whole thing is pretty messed up right now. I have a dream that I may put it all back together one day and present it to the world as a finely arranged and worded narrative, but we all know that will never happen. But maybe it will appear as an offshoot of All Dad All Day, who knows.
So that's how I ended up here. Let's see where it takes us.
Happy Half-Birthday girlie!
